Police Academy

This January I am going to be attending the Police Academy. I figure this is a good time to go through the course. Alot of police departments will be hiring next summer time frame. So going from January to April will make it perfect timing. Normally how you go through the Police Academy is that a police department first will hire you. Than they fork over the money to put you through the course. Which takes time, so the time until you're waiting to go to the academy is just wasted time. Which going through that process is the hard way to get hired, becasue they normally won't hire like that. Instead I'm putting my self throught the Police Academy. Once you graduate you are a certified police oficer. That way when you go apply for a ploice job at some kind of department, you'll have a very high chance of getting hired. You're already certified, and the police department who is hiring you doesn't have to fork over the money to put you through. They also can put you right on the road to serve and prctect.

Life in the Army

Well its Soulja Boi, and this is my first blog. My real name is Matt, I currently just got out of the army. When I say I just got out, yesterday was my last day out of the army. It's still kind of hitting me, the fact that I'm a civilian again. It's also crazy in a way that I just spent the last five years of my life in the United States Army! Two which were spent in Iraq, Its amazing looking back how the military has changed my life so much! I'm going to try to explain in this blog what it was like in this military life. I just know how people have all these different perception of what the military and military life is like. So sit back and relax while I try to explain this to you.

Imagine your way of life is surrounded by this big sucure bubble so to speak. You and or your family have everything they could need to survive in this world/econamy. You have free health care, a steady paycheck, a free house to live in etc. All the necessity you could ever need! Sounds pretty good, right? Well not so much, all these things come with a sacrafice or price. You hardly get to spend time with your family, or any free time for that matter. That's becasue you're always gone training, like shooting your gun, or out in the woods as I call it "Playing Army". Or even worse, being deployed to some type of Combat Zone, like Iraq or Afghanistan. It's hard being a family man in the military.

No granted, it's not all bad. I've became a better person from everything i've been tought in the Army. It is truely a great experiance but like I said earlier it comes with alot of sacifices not just by you but your family too. There is more I would like to get into with but I wont at this time. I'll have plenty more blogs(continuations) of this one in the future.

The Office(That's what she said)

The Office is such an epic show! The comedy is pure genius, in my eyes. Not everyone can watch it and understand the dry humor of The Office. The man that brings this epic comedy on the show together is Michael Scott. He is the district manager of Dander Mifflin Paper Company. This man is not your average boss, if you watch the show you would wonder why this guy hasn't been fired yet. One of the many reasons why he's not your average boss is the stuff he says in the work environment. I know the saying "that's what she said" has been around. But Michael Scott has taken it to a whole new level. He uses the saying for everything, even when it’s suppose to be a serious moment he finds a way to slip it in. It's almost to the point where he says it like clockwork. Watch this video and you'll see why.

Why I love Fall and Halloween

Well kids its about that time of year again, where the weather gets cold enough to wear pants and hoodies. It's my favorite time of the year!
A time where the leafs change to those beautiful colors of oranges, reds, yellows and even browns. There is just no better time of the year. There are so many things that makes Fall the greatest season. Besides just the weather, Football is a big one for me. I still love going back to my old high school and watching those friday night games. Sitting outside around a fire, haning out with friends, drinking some beer. The best thing about this season for me is Halloween! Ever since I was a kid I could remember that holiday. There is nothing like in the world, you get to dress up to whatever your imagine wants. You can decorate your house to make it look like some kind of hunted house. And the big thing is you get to go from house to house and get free candy! Hello?! Free candy! I don't know about you but I look forward to this holiday every year. What's great about it also is the history about the holiday.

It's the pagan origins of Halloween are so palpable that there is little wonder the holiday has generated considerable controversy over the centuries. Falling on October 31, Halloween history tells us that this celebration is only the herald of the holiday that medieval Christian Europeans were intended to celebrate -- All Saints' Day, November 1.
And thus the story behind the term itself, which is short for "the eve before All Hallows' Day,". It goes back as far as 5 B.C. It was believed that spirits rose from the dead and mingled with the living on this day. The Celts left food at their doors to encourage good spirits and wore masks to scare off the bad ones. Some historians believe that the Romans who invaded England added a few of their own traditions to the celebration of Samhain; such as celebrating the end of the harvest and honoring the dead; others say that since the Romans never conquered the Celts (Ireland and Scotland) there was no mingling of cultures, and that the Celts celebrated the end of the harvest and honored their dead in this way, anyway!

A little history lesson for all of you out there in TV land.
